Not only will you save on your electric bill, but you will decrease the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that are being released into the air as a byproduct the energy that needs to be produced to turn on your computer. And it will add to the life of your computer! If you must keep it on, turn on the power save option. Most laser printers will go into a power saving mode during periods of unuse, but you can power down inkjets and older laser printers at night or if you are going to be away from your desk for an extended period of time.
